Berlin, January 18, 2023–With his latest work, Meyer-Leclère reflects on meditation, concentration and contemplation by creating new contemporary classics.
The collection is inspired by the Song of Ascent in the bible "Nisi Dominus" that is attributed to the prophet Solomon and its musical interpretation by Vivaldi. "Cum Dederit" is the fourth movement of the composition, which is characterized by a slow, contemplative style. Meyer-Leclère drew significant inspiration for his collection from the chromatically ascending lines and slow, expressive style of the composition.
Masterful cuts and fits, revealing knits from recycled organic yarns, sensual silk braids, hand-woven fabrics and lush hand-woven tweeds that were created by sustainable materials exclusively for the collection: With "CUM DEDERIT" Meyer-Leclère creates a new wardrobe that bridges attention to detail with sensuality. The collection includes couture pieces, but also luxurious prêt-à-porter. Each garment is handmade.
The silhouettes combine menswear cuts with a feminine touch. Meyer-Leclère's collection transcends gender boundaries, so the wearing person can fill it with their own identity.
LML STUDIO has always taken a stance with its creations. Sustainability is Meyer-Leclère's top priority. Re-interpretations of looks from existing collections, the steady reuse of fabrics and local production make his fashion utterly sustainable. This collection will include a capsule of tailored looks that will be available in several sizes and limited editions.
The presentation of "CUM DEDERIT" will be the first fashion show to take place at St. Marienkirche in the heart of Alexanderplatz. The church was consecrated in 1294. Jonas Sandmeier will accompany the fashion show with an organ concert along with a surprise guest.
The collection will be shown as part of Berlin Fashion Week with the support of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises in collaboration with the Fashion Council Germany.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to St. Marienkirche.
