About the Artists:
- Joshua Sam Miller, a conscious entrepreneur, sound and visual artist, music producer, and ocean conservationist, leads the Sounds of the Ocean team. His mission is to alleviate stress and reconnect people with nature through sound. Skilled in both clarinet and drums, he seamlessly blends ambient percussion with melody, guiding listeners into profound relaxation. Joshua's work has graced music festivals, conferences, and wellness events worldwide, from Australia to Europe. Joshua's accolades include an honorable mention at Dome Fest West and participation in the International Year of Sound. As the Founder of Embodied Sounds, he hosts The Embodied Sounds Podcast, uniting artists to create impactful, environmentally-conscious sound and visual experiences worldwide.
- Elise Lein, MPhil. in Film, Media, and Theater Science, is a multifaceted German artist blending dance, music, and Expressive Arts facilitation. Since 2009, she's contributed to fiction and documentary films, focusing on environmental themes. Notable works include co-directing, dancing, and co-producing "Sounds of the Ocean" and serving as creative producer for "The Green Lie," premiering at the Berlinale. Elise advocates for merging mindful music and imagery to promote environmental awareness and inner reflection, aiming to inspire audiences to engage with environmental issues peacefully. Her approach fosters holistic well-being for individuals and the planet through tranquil mindfulness.
- WHAIA, hailing from the Ngati Kahugnunu tribe, serves on the board of Oceanic Global. She is a transcendent singer, alchemical performer, First Nations multi-instrumentalist, designer, creative culture producer, and visionary facilitator. Using Taonga Puoro, traditional instruments of the First Nations, and crystal singing bowls, WHAIA weaves her own unique cradle of embedded healing phonetics. Residing in Australia, she is also the mother of "The Mana Waka," a 40-foot bus and traveling production studio that offers artistic and educational community projects on the road.
