At New York Fashion Week designer Alix Pietrafesa presented her ALIX OF BOHEMIA Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Second Nature.
Wild animal prints and bold patterns were unleashed in a gallery setting that invited guests to explore the collection and look closely. Editors, buyers, friends of the brand, and long-time collaborators gathered for an evening that reflected the spirit of ALIX OF BOHEMIA: personal, instinctive, and grounded in substance over show.
Second Nature explores a modern City Safari through the women of New York who have made personal style instinctive. Women who move through the world with confidence, independence, and curiosity.
Speaking about the collection, Alix Pietrafesa says “I have always been fascinated by exotic animals. Those early obsessions never left me, and evolved into a lifelong relationship with animal print and pattern as a form of self expression.”
In this FW26 collection, the safari references appear through hand worked embroideries and layered prints on exclusively natural fibers. Made for the adventurer in us all, the collection champions rich, tactile surfaces such as knitted wools, handloomed silks, handwoven wools, and soft tweeds. Every piece is made to feel ready for whatever lies ahead.
“I approach design the way I prepare for a journey,” says Alix, “imagining where these clothes will travel, what they will witness, and how they will live in a woman’s wardrobe over time.”
Despite its status as a global luxury label, you can always find surprising, intricate details that connect ALIX OF BOHEMIA to its roots. Many garments are finished with ceramic buttons handmade by Alix’s mother. The fearless spirit of the 1970s, which often sparks inspiration in the designer, serves as the moodboard for this collection, in particular the confident and composed strength of icons like Veruschka.
“Second Nature speaks to a woman who knows herself,” says Alix. “Her style is never constructed for approval. It has become part of her. It is second nature.”
