German fashion designer Esther Perbandt will return to the Berlin Fashion Week calendar with a new staging of her capsule fashion collection "Blackhearts". Machine and human art come together, with the visuals of Esther's short AI film "Blackhearts" translated into physical reality by performance group DANCÆ, set to a live composition by Sven Helbig. The fashion presentation is to take place at Fotografiska on Saturday, July 4 at 9pm.
Wearing selected new pieces from the collection, DANCÆ will move to choreography by founder Soraya Schulthess. Live cameras will use the latest technology to capture the movement of the five dancers and feed their movements into the visual system, creating a dialogue between pre-rendered imagery and real performers wearing the garments. All the while, a captivating live composition by renowned musician Sven Helbig will echo around the Fotografiska Ballroom.
The evening will celebrate the relaunch of the Esther Perbandt website, as well as being the premier of the brand's own AI assistant. Developed by Lucca Elwood, founder of Jenna, the assistant has been trained on Esther Perbandt's design philosophy, aesthetic history, and styling knowledge. Attendees are invited to add the AI as a digital contact on Whatsapp or on the website, to ask questions about the collection and brand, or for advice on styling and fit.
