The Josephinenhütte Black Line edition will return this October with the No. 4 Champagne glass reimagined in an elegant smoky black creation. Limited to 3,000 units worldwide (1st edition), exclusively at josephinen.com, the Black Line No. 4 glasses are likely to sell out quickly.
The Black Line No. 4 Champagne glass will be available to newsletter subscribers in a pre-sale on October 15, with the general public release on October 19.
Priced at $220 for a set of two glasses (€158, CHF 190, £180), the stemware elevates fine dining and black tie events with its innovative sensory design and striking aesthetic.
"It was the distinctive visual character, the interplay of light and shadow, that inspired me," said Kurt Josef Zalto, design director of Josephinenhütte. "While we adhere to a philosophy of sensory excellence when developing our glasses, these limited editions allow us to embrace an extraordinary aesthetic. In a smoky black finish, the glasses exude a particularly elegant and mysterious air, an effect that works especially well for an occasion specific glass like the No. 4."
This marks the third year of limited edition Black Line launches. Previous editions, drawn from the Josephine Collection's core shapes, have included the Black Line No. 2 Universal, No. 3 Red, and No. 7 Decanter. Every year the glassware has sold out within days, and this year's edition is expected to be just as popular.
In a smoky black finish, champagne becomes pure sensation, as the drinker is drawn deeper into aroma, effervescence, and taste, a rare invitation to experience fine wine with new attention.
Like all pieces in the Josephine Collection, each Black Line glass is meticulously handcrafted by master glassblowers in Europe. The traditional, small batch production process may result in subtle color variations and minute bubbles, which are not flaws but a testament to the artisanal craftsmanship, ensuring each piece is a unique work of art.
Each Black Line release has become a quiet ritual for a devoted following, part anticipation, part ceremony, and part the particular pleasure of owning something made to last a lifetime.
