Alix Pietrafesa, the designer and founder of ALIX OF BOHEMIA, is proud to present her new fall/winter collection: Velvet Horizon. Drawing inspiration from the effortless, functional style of gauchos from Argentina and Uruguay, the collection evokes feelings of freedom, resilience, and independence.
With its cowboy motifs, earthy colour palette, and intricate fringe and stud details, Velvet Horizon invites you to be the hero of your own folktale. As with all ALIX OF BOHEMIA collections, the textures are all rendered in natural fibers like cotton velvet, silk chiffon, hand loomed silk, and knitted wool fur.
When creating the collection, the "gaucho way of life" was at the forefront of Alix Pietrafesa’s mind. Working in harsh conditions, “the gaucho must consider utility in how they adorn themselves,” says Alix. “For example, a poncho protects from the cold and also serves as a blanket.” It was this lack of frivolity that captured Alix’s attention, ultimately sparking the idea for the AW25 collection.
Velvet Horizon will be unveiled to industry insiders and fashion press during Paris Fashion Week at LIVE FASHION, located at 65 Rue Saint Anne, Paris 75002 on Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Founded by New York designer Alix Pietrafesa, ALIX OF BOHEMIA is renowned for its distinctive approach to luxury fashion, merging innovation with traditional hand embroidered, hand woven, hand quilted, and hand printed pieces, made by artisans around the world from India to Guatemala, Portugal to the United States. The brand has grown a cult following for its artisanal garments that radiate iconic bohemian style, Carnaby Street Rock and Roll, and French cool.
The collection will be available to the public in autumn on ALIXOFBOHEMIA.com, and in retail stores including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Net-a-Porter, and many luxury shops across US and EU.
