Berlin designer Esther Perbandt presents her latest collection, BLACK TAILORED SUMMER, through an exclusive sartorial installation during Berlin Fashion Week on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 1 PM at Fashion Council Germany, Meinekestrasse 12, 10719 Berlin. The event merges fashion, photography, and performance, marking the brand's refined evolution toward premium, wearable avant- garde while retaining its bold creative essence.
The collection signifies the culmination of Perbandt's five-year transformation from expressive showpieces to sophisticated, gender-neutral tailoring. Inspired by heritage menswear yet softened by individuality, each piece empowers wearers in real-life contexts. The signature monochrome palette endures, now executed with heightened precision for everyday luxury. A central design motif reimagines the typically hidden waistband as a visible, celebrated element – a nod to traditional tailoring turned outward. This inside-out approach extends to revealed pocket bags, with luxurious summer-light fabrics like cool-wool, silk, and silk chiffon ensuring elegance and movement.
These concepts materialize in standout pieces including a sculptural silk gown crafted from twelve meters of fine silk. As the collection's ultimate showstopper, its dramatic form evokes modernist sculpture while maintaining cohesion through subtle tailoring references and visible construction details, transforming the wearer through a balance of grandeur and rebellion. Minimalist precision emerges in a unisex coat where the bold placement of the signature waistband elevates this timeless black piece into a coveted essential. Gender fluidity is embodied in a waistband skirt presented on a male model with effortless naturalism, integrating classic menswear elements to achieve effortless elegance as a modern trouser alternative.

The installation features these looks across nine models styled in gender-fluid presentations, complemented by large-format fashion photography by Sylwia Makris, creating an immersive artistic narrative. Visitors are invited to intimately explore the craftsmanship and soft tailoring.
Perbandt emphasizes that beauty and wearability are allies, underscoring the collection's focus on integrating tailored black pieces seamlessly into daily life. “These are clothes for people who value substance and design,“ states Perbandt. “Strength can be quiet, and luxury can be black.“ Artistic showpieces remain part of the brand's DNA, while the core now centers on lived-in luxury.
The presentation also highlights the ongoing collaboration with Berlin footwear label Trippen, debuting a new high boot: a sculptural, minimalist take on punk combat boots elevated by Trippen's iconic 10cm Geisha platform sole.
The collection will be available for viewing and purchase at the Esther Perbandt store in Berlin-Mitte following the installation. “Fashion should move with you,“ concludes Perbandt. The story continues beyond the catwalk.
