THE FAIREST 01: The first edition of TF Art Fair, Open Your Eyes Again, to present over 60 artists during the Berlin Art Week from 13 to 18 September 2022, at Kühlhaus Berlin.
THE FAIREST (TF) is a new public platform founded by curators Eleonora Sutter and Georgie Pope with the aim to give young, emerging or independent artists* creative visibility in the art market. TF provides a forum for a variety of relevant, urgent, and experimental practices that showcase artists* without gallery representation, who often lack access to art fairs and collectors.
TF is directed at a broad audience within and beyond the art world. TF represents an exciting selection of artists and is an art fair that operates according to the core values and vision of its founders. This includes addressing new audiences for art, developing new notions of "art collecting" and promoting diverse forms of engagement with art, as well as giving fresh impetus to established collectors.
THE FAIREST 01: Open Your Eyes Again
Wann: September 13, 17h - 23h and September 14 - 18, 12h - 18h
Location: Kühlhaus Berlin, Luckenwalder Str. 3 10963 Berlin
Admission: 5€ (fair only), 10€ (fair + performance)
In the run-up to the fair, which takes place annually, THE FAIREST cooperate on an international level with various spaces and cities and has thus far realized five smaller "teaser" events to introduce artists* participating in the fair.
At TF, the artworks are not shown as individual objects in booths, but are presented as part of a curated group exhibition in a lively, immersive setting. This does justice to the meaning of the art works, encourages dialogue, and includes sound, participation, performances, and discussions. In addition to the main event, online and offline activities will take place, providing opportunities for exchange and encompassing different formats. THE FAIREST challenges heteronormative structures dominated by white men. TF's fundamental mission is to create a sustainable, community-oriented system.
