Berlin-based artist Mischa Fanghaenel brings his acclaimed series NACHTS—which captures the electrifying nightlife and personalities of Berlin—to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for the first time. The exhibition opens on Friday, August 15 at Passage, a leading venue for contemporary art in Mongolia.
To kick off this special exhibition, Fanghaenel will give an artist talk to an audience of industry insiders and media at the vernissage, at 6pm on Friday for select guests.
NACHTS, which is German for “at night”, is a photographic journey through Berlin’s nocturnal world, with all its edges, eccentricities, and human moments. Shot entirely in black and white, the series captures the emotional texture of the clubbing scene: fleeting gestures, shared rituals, and quiet introspection against a backdrop of music and movement. Fanghaenel’s work offers a rare, nuanced portrait of a subculture that is often misrepresented and overlooked.
